"EA could have
just released new missions, units, structures, and powers for
Generals, and had a sure-fire winner on its hands. The addition of the
specialized generals, however, pushes this expansion set over the top.
If you've already got Generals, you cannot go wrong with getting Zero
Hour. It will spark new life into your game and add a lot of variation
to your online play, and there's not much more you can ask from an
expansion."

"I like the
graphics, not so much for the crispness, which they do kind of lack,
as the little details, such as the dust kicked up by vehicles and the
machine gunners on the back of GLA pickups hammering at them as though
jammed. Good weapons effects; explosions, clouds of toxins – I’m
satisfied. The sound effects are even better, and many of the units
have funny little sayings that, given the pretty large number of units
in the game, take quite a while to get old."

"With Zero Hour
I've been enjoying some great story driven combat while trying
(unsuccessfully so far), to beat all the Generals in the challenge
mode. And almost every day still brings at least one fight over the
network. So in effect, Zero Hour is actually a better game than the
original it is spawned from. Once its teething problems are pulled or
filled-in I feel it will be recognised as one of the classics of its
time."

"Zero Hour only
strengthens an already outstanding title in Command and Conquer:
Generals. The expansion offers a fantastic new mode, Challenge mode,
which ironically brings Generals to Generals. Giving the game a new
feature where characters have more strength in different fields to
support the gamer’s favourite fields. Single player missions
aren’t extensive but still provide enough for offline play and with
the tough challenge and skirmish modes Zero Hour offers a great deal."

"The folks at EA
games, showing an almost shocking air of bluntness given the current
world political situation, gave us Command and Conquer Generals last
year. After the dismal failure of a First-Person experiment like
C&C: Renegade, Generals threw the series into a strong climb back
up the ladder. Now, keeping the ball rolling, EA has released an
add-on pack for Generals, calling it by the ominous name of Zero Hour."

"When we heard
that Command and Conquer: Generals was going to spawn an expansion, we
were very apprehensive. We loved the original and rated it very highly
because of its polished game play and well balanced forces. Would the
expansion pack, Zero Hour, do it justice? We are pleased to say that
it does indeed, and then some."

"Zero Hour is a
great example of how an expansion pack for a real-time strategy game
can add a lot of new playability without necessarily adding a lot of
extra stuff. It might seem spare when you consider it consists mainly
of tweaks and minor additions, but it makes Command & Conquer:
Generals play like a new and much better game."

"As expansions
go, this one offers plenty of goodies for fans of the original. It
goes beyond simply offering more of the same (the Challenge mode is
indeed unique in that sense), and it also features some subtle yet
very significant changes to the gameplay mechanics that will make the
single-player experience a lot more enjoyable."

"Generals looked and sounded superb when it was released, and
the same can be said of Zero Hour. The game engine has been optimized,
leading to more consistent frame rates and a better look for all of
the impressive explosions and special effects that made Generals look
so fantastic."

"Command & Conquer: Generals Zero Hour is an excellent
expansion pack. It adds a lot of new fun for gamers that have already
played the hell out of the original game. The campaign is usually
enough addition for an expansion pack as it is. The extra work the
team did on the Generals' Challenge mode is awesome. The value is
certainly there and fans of the series should have no problem sinking
into the game and having a blast."
