Introduction

World Builder is a scenario editor created by EA Games for the purpose of editing or fabricating your own maps and missions for the COMMAND and CONQUER GENERALS game, developed by the EA Pacific team. It is robust and user-friendly once you are familiar with all its functions. 

Long time DEN staff member RVMECH has written some comprehensive tutorials for the World Builder Editor. He also played a part in the development process of C&C Generals, having created some of the maps used in the C&C Generals game developed by EA Pacific. He has logged many hours of working with the editor. You can read RVMECH's Forward (introduction for tutorials) HERE.   • NOTE: You can download the entire World Builder Tutorials by RVMECH in Adobe Acrobat .PDF Reader format. It makes the tutorials printer friendly for those of you who want to print out the tuts. You can download this from the DEN HERE (258kb).

The menu on your left lists the tutorials that are currently available online. We will add more tutorials as time goes by. It is highly suggested that you start out your learning experience with Chapter 1. It is a three part chapter that will help you to familiarize yourself with the basic features of the editor. Other sections such as Sculpting, Textures, and Object Placement, and the five part series on making your very first map will help you get things started.

As with anything new, patience is a MUST! With practice and time, and a bit of trial and error, you will improve on your skills as a map maker. Our hope is that these tutorials are a great benefit to you. Special thanks to RVMECH for the time he's spent on preparing these informative and comprehensive tutorials. And to EA Pacific for developing a great game that is C&C: Generals.

When you have finished your map and you think it's ready for other fans to enjoy, we welcome all to send your map to CNCDEN for possible hosting. All maps sent in are subject to review and must meet certain standards we have set forth. We are interested in quality maps ONLY. Take the time required to learn how to use the World Builder Editor effectively and you should have no problems creating a map we can accept. Enjoy the tutorials and have FUN making maps!
